Leading domestic home appliances retailer Suning Commerce Group Co said on Thursday that it has set up its EU branch in the UK to further expand business overseas.
EU is the next overseas market targeted by Suning, which is looking for opportunity to cooperate with local retailers and brands, Zhang Jindong, chairman of Suning, was quoted as saying in a press release sent to the Global Times on Thursday.
Zhang is among the delegation of 150 entrepreneurs who have accompanied President Xi Jinping's State visit to the UK. According to the press release, Zhang paid a visit to UK retailing giant Tesco on Tuesday, aiming to gain some experience in the supermarket operations.
