Chinese car-hailing firm Didi Kuaidi will operate commuter bus services starting on Thursday, according to media reports.
Didi Kuaidi will run 33 routes in Beijing and 10 in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, according to Beijing-based news portal qq.com.
The company will expand its network to more than 100 bus routes in those two cities by the end of July.
The goal is to provide more travel options for commuters, Li Jinfei, director of the company's bus services division, told qq.com on Wednesday.
The target customers are white-collar employees aged 20 to 40 years old. Fares will range from 7 yuan ($1.13) to 13 yuan, according to qq.com.
