Chinese Internet behemoth Tencent Holdings rolled out a film and television business platform on Wednesday, in a move to expand beyond its traditional turf of gaming and social networking services.
The new platform will be a supplement to Tencent's online gaming-focused interactive entertainment business division, the company announced Wednesday at a news conference.
Some copyrighted novels, games and animations are set to be adapted into films, according to a statement released by the company.
