CNOOC produces 66.84 mln tons of crude oil

China's biggest offshore oil and natural gas explorer said Monday that it produced 66.84 million tons of crude oil and 19.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2013.

Among the production, 39.38 million tons of crude oil and 10.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas came from offshore, according to a report released by the China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC).

CNOOC imported 13.01 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) last year, making LNG refueling a "new growth point" for the company, it said.

CNOOC's oil and gas production from Chinese waters amounted to 50 million tons of oil equivalent in 2013.

Mainly thanks to its acquisition of Canadian oil and gas company Nexen in February last year, oil and gas production in overseas waters in 2013 doubled from 2012, according to the report.

CNOOC, which ranked 93rd in the Fortune global 500, had a total capital of 1.05 trillion yuan (170 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of 2013.
