Liu Yuezhen is the new chief accountant of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), according to information posted on the website of the State-owned enterprise (SOE) on Tuesday.

CNPC, the country's largest oil and gas producer by output, updated the senior management information on its website late Monday, and information about Wen Qingshan, CNPC's previous chief accountant, has been deleted from the website, Beijing Times reported Tuesday.

Wen was taken away by authorities for investigation in mid-December, China Business News reported on December 17.

Before taking up the CNPC post, Liu served as the chief accountant of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation.

Several top executives at CNPC have been under investigation for "serious discipline violations" in the past few months, including Jiang Jiemin, former chairman of CNPC.
