Chinese stocks opened lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.46 percent, or 9.80 points, to open at 2,139.84.
The Shenzhen Component Index shed 0.71 percent, or 59.36 points, to open at 8,357.57.
