China stocks open higher ahead of holiday

Chinese stocks opened higher on Monday, the last trading day before the week-long national holiday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index openped up 0.36 percent at 2,167.73 points. The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.16 percent to open at 8,485.65 points.
