Baoshang Bank's bonds suspended

The central bank suspended the Baoshang Bank's certification to offer bond settlement agency services by Baoshang Bank for two years, without giving specific reasons for this move, financial news portal caixin.com reported Tuesday.

Analysts said it is "a very severe punishment" for the bank, indicating the regulator's increasingly stringent attitude toward supervising the bond market.

Baoshang Bank, founded in 1998, was the first ­joint-stock commercial bank in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and was authorized by the central bank to offer bond settlement agency services in 2004.
