China produced 259.42 million sets of mobile phones in the first four months this year, up 5.5 percent compared with the same period of 2012, China National Radio reported Tuesday, quoting data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Domestic sales of mobile phones reached 265.01 million units, a 4.3 percent rise year-on-year, according to data from the MIIT.
