Chinese shares close higher Friday

Chinese shares closed higher Friday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index increased 0.57 percent, or 12.87 points, to end at 2,288.53.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.42 percent, or 39.18 points, to 9,304.86.
