Agricultural Bank of China exec gets boot

Yang Kun, former vice president of Agricultural Bank of China, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and removed from public office, Xinhua News Agency reported Monday.

According to the report, an investigation by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection showed that Yang used his position to seek profits for other people and took huge bribes.

Reuters reported on April 30 that Yang owed Macao casinos 3 billion yuan ($490 million) in gambling debts.

Yang's case will be turned over to prosecutors, Xinhua reported.
