The State Council Information Office of China has held a press conference on the development of the country's industry and communications sector in the first quarter of 2013. Xiao Chunquan, the director general of the Bureau of Operation Monitoring and Coordination of MIIT said that China has achieved a good and steady start in general. He said the industrial economy was runing stably.
Xiao Chunquan said, "Statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that increment of the industry above the designated scale, grew by 9.5% year-on-year in the first quarter, among which the heavy industry grows by."
