    Horsemeat scandal hits Hong Kong

2013-02-22 16:50 CNTV     Web Editor: yaolan comment

The horsemeat scandal in Europe has now spread to Hong Kong, where an imported brand of "beef" lasagna has been pulled from store shelves.

Authorities in Hong Kong last week ordered a top local supermarket chain to remove the lasagna made by frozen food giant Findus, one of the firms at the center of the scandal. The product was imported from Britain and made by French firm Comigel. Hong Kong's Center for Food Safety warned locals not to consume the item, as it might be adulterated with horsemeat which has not undergone tests for veterinary drugs.
