Chinese stocks opened higher on Friday ahead of the release of key economic data, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.48 percent to 2295.81.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 9,358.40, up 0.53 percent from the previous close.
The National Bureau of Statistics is scheduled to unveil key economic data for 2012 Friday morning.
