Yihaodian.com, a Chinese online grocery store controlled by US retailing giant Wal-Mart, has vowed to protect users' privacy after some of its employees have been accused of selling user information.

The website reported the case to the police and upgraded its website system after it found its user information had been leaked, Caixin magazine said over the weekend.

Earlier media reports said that some Yihaodian employees had been found selling user information online, most of which was found to be real client information from the website, and that 900,000 clients' information had been sold for only 500 yuan ($80).
