The US congressional report accusing China's telecom equipment makers of being a potential security risk is based on false assumptions, China's Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday.
The latest US move is in violation of free market principles, said ministry spokesperson Shen Danyang. China hopes the US congress will abandon the prejudice against Chinese enterprises and provide fair and equal market access to promote bilateral trade, Shen noted.
The US House of Representatives' Intelligence Committee said Monday that China's Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corp pose a security threat to the US.
