CIRC breaks down H1 complaints

The China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), the country's insurance industry regulator, received 6,176 complaints from insurance customers in the first half of this year, up 127.23 percent compared to the same time in 2011.

Among these complaints, a total of 6,524 were directed toward insurance companies, up 134.17 percent year-on-year.

Of the complaints filed against companies, 2,600 were related to property insurance products and 3,923 were related to personal insurance products, up 118.3 percent and 145.96 percent year-on-year respectively.
