(Ecns.cn) -- Chinese liquor maker Wuliangye achieved an annual operating revenue of 20.351 billion yuan (US$3.2 billion) in 2011, which is a growth of 30.95 percent year-on-year, according to the company's 2011 annual financial report released on Wednesday.
The company's net profit increased 40.09 percent last year, reaching 6.157 billion yuan (US$976 million). It's high-priced liquor products, sold at more than 120 yuan (US$19) per bottle, earned the company over 14 billion yuan (US$2.2 billion), while the mid- and low-priced product raked in 4.3 billion yuan (US$682 million).
Early this March, Tang Qiao, CEO of Wuliangye Group and a deputy to the National People's Congress from Southwest China's Sichuan Province, announced the company intends to strengthen its annual production capacity.
According to Tang, plans are to increase its yearly production from the current 200,000 tons to 300,000 tons this year.
It also intends to extend its exploration of overseas markets, and is now setting higher goals for exports of its products to foreign countries over the next five years.
The company does not consider itself to be exclusively a luxury beverage producer; people on modest budgets can afford to buy more than 80 percent of its sub-brands.
