(Ecns.cn)--Eight Chinese liquor producers, including top brand Moutai, will publish sales information such as distribution channels, outlets and suppliers of various products, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) on Sunday.
The action initiated by the AQSIQ and the China Food Industry Association aims to curb sales of fake liquor products. The information is expected to be announced in the following 60 days.
The liquor companies will first release information about their one or two famous products, and eventually broaden the range of coverage.
The companies will also publish the names of manufacturers that have produced and sold counterfeit products using their brand names, according to the AQSIQ.
The publishing of sales information from liquor companies will help regulate the market, said the AQSIQ.
