New-energy vehicle project gears up

The largest new-energy vehicle manufacturing project in Heilongjiang Province is expected to produce its first vehicle in April after 10 months of development.

The 2.1 billion yuan ($332.4 million) project is under the control of Long Hua Motor in the city of Qiqihar. Each year, the project aims to produce about 10,000 vehicles powered by solar power and other energy sources. An Italian company has already signed a contract to purchase 500 cars built there.
