(Ecns.cn)--On Thursday in Beijing a group of Chinese writers, under the mantle of the China Written Works Copyright Society (CWWCS), an organization established in July 2011 to safeguard Chinese writers' copyrights online, once again complained Apple Inc for continuing to provide protected works for download through its online App store.
This is the latest attempt made by Chinese writers to protect their rights. Over ten writers' rights are mentioned to be violated this time, including Han Han and Maijia.
This time the writers' union petitioned Apple to remove copyright-infringing books from its App store and demanded compensation totaling over 5 million yuan (US$789,950）
So far, Apple Inc has made no comment on the complaint.
The idea to sue Apple for violating their copyright was first raised early in March 2011, but the suit wasn't filed with the courts until July 2011. And Beijing No.2 Intermediate People's Court accepted their lawsuits.
