(Ecns.cn)--Some users of Jingdong Mall, or 360Buy.com, China's second-biggest e-commerce site, complained on Monday that their Jingdong accounts have been hacked and some of their money embezzled to buy welfare lottery tickets, according to reports on Tuesday.
"As far as I know, the accounts of over 20 people have been hacked, and none of the transactions in the embezzlement process were verified by any email or mobile phone messages," said a Mr. Chi, who had just discovered the money he deposited in his Jingdong account had been moved.
Chi applied for phone and email verification of his account activity, and if there was any legitimate transaction, he would have received notification.
By checking the trading record, Chi found that on the morning of March 10, 400 yuan (US$60) had been withdrawn from his Jingdong account and invested in welfare lottery tickets.
Jingdong confirmed on Tuesday that they had already received customer complaints and admitted the company had a problem; they are still investigating, checking first of all whether a technical loophole is at fault.
