Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela will pay a state visit to China from Nov. 16 to 22 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Varela, born in 1963, has been the president of the Panamenista Party since 2006.
He won the 2014 presidential election and was sworn in July that year.
He had served as vice president and foreign minister before his presidency.
