In an encouraging stretch for conservationists, 22 Siberian tiger cubs were born in the span of 10 days at the Siberian Tiger Park in Harbin, a city in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

The newborns are not ready to meet park visitors yet. The animals are currently on a diet of goat's milk. They also require routine physical examinations after every meal.

Siberian tigers are among the world's ten most endangered species and mostly live in northeast China and eastern Russia.

China is trying to save the species by expanding its habitat and breeding them in captivity. The park has more than a thousand Siberian tigers and is the largest breeding and field training center in the world.
