China's Tibet Autonomous Region on Saturday reported its first human infection of the H7N9 strain of bird flu, Xinhua news agency said, citing local health authorities.
The 41-year-old patient, a migrant worker from neighboring Sichuan Province, reported symptoms on Monday and the diagnosis was confirmed on Tuesday. He was quarantined at Tibet's Third People's Hospital in Lhasa, according to the local health authority.
The patient had been working in poultry trading in Lhasa since February. Live poultry trading across the region has been suspended.
This is the first human infection of H7N9 case reported in Tibet.
