    Disney's 'Rogue One’ tops box office for fourth time in N America

    Disney's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" won the first place of North American box office from a close race this weekend, retaining its top spot for four weekends in a row.

    "Rogue One" took in 21.9 million U.S. dollars in its fourth week of release, which dropped 55.7 percent compared with last weekend, according to studio estimates from comScore released on Sunday. The film has now passed the 477 million dollar mark in its box office gross in the United States and Canada, placing it just 9 million dollars behind "Finding Dory," the highest grossing release of 2016.

    Internationally, "Rogue One" added another 56.6 million dollars this weekend from 57 markets, bringing its overseas total to 437.1 million dollars for a global total revenue of 914.4 million dollars.

    "Rogue One" opened in China this weekend and brought in an estimated 31 million dollars for the three-day, only 61 percent of 2015's 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'" two-day opening weekend in China.

    The historical space drama "Hidden Figures" expanded its screening theaters from 25 to 2,471 locations and trailed closely behind with 21.8 million dollars in its third weekend in theaters.

    It received an "A+" from first-night movie goers on CinemaScore. Critics gave it a 93 percent approval rate on RottenTomatoes.

    Breakdown figures of this film show that 64 percent of its audience were female and 56 percent were under the age of 35.

    The Universal's animated musical "Sing" was third with 19.5 million dollars, dropping 54.4 percent compared with last weekend.

    In the fourth place was "Underworld: Blood Wars" with 13.1 million dollars and fifth place went to "La La Land" with 10 million dollars.

    Rounding out the rest 10 most-popular films this weekend were "Passengers" (8.8 million dollars), "Why Him?" (6.5 million), "Moana"(6.4 million), "Fences"(4.7 million), and "Assassin's Creed" (3.8 million).
