Four people have been confirmed dead after a van drove into a street market in Beijing's northern suburb of Changping Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. at a farmers' market in Machikou Township, leaving several injured, who are being treated in hospital.
The driver of the van is in police custody.
Further investigation is under way.
