Tradition and modern technology are thriving side-by-side in the streets of the scenic river town of Wuzhen in east China's Zhejiang Province, as it readies for the second World Internet Conference starting on Wednesday. [Special coverage]
During the three-day conference, the quiet town, which has a history of over 6,000 years, will welcome more than 2,000 government officials and Internet elites from more than 120 countries and regions.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will also be in attendance to deliver a keynote speech.
The excitement in Wuzhen is palpable. The picturesque streets of this sparkling water town are dotted with ancient homes that speak of a rich cultural tradition.
However, at every few meters, this history is married with modern technology. The city offers full WIFI connectivity and there are a number of QR-codes installations that have been put up for the convenience of tourists.
The conference is expected to discuss the future of the Internet and the changes that further technological development can bring to the lives of people.

Our "new tools" here include cutting-edge cameras like a 360-degree virtual reality camera and drones, which allow us to get some of amazing (and expensive) shots from different angles in this picturesque town.
But at the same time, we are also trying to maximize the use of small but smart cameras, like Go-Pros and iPhones with a selfie stick.
