    Latest technological innovations to be displayed at 'Internet Light' Fair

    The 'Internet Light' Fair will be held during the 2nd World Internet Conference which will take place in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province next week.

    Nearly 260 companies from around the world will join the Fair and demonstrate the latest achievements in Internet technology.

    A number of innovative projects from SMEs will also be displayed at the Fair to demonstrate their development potential and market value. At the same time, the Chinese Internet Museum will open to the public.

    Here are some of the cutting-edge technologies that will be displayed at the Fair:

    Baidu self-driving vehicle

    Starting from 2013, Baidu's driverless car project has been led by its research body, the Institute of Deep Learning, with "Baidu Car Brain" at its core, which includes a high-accuracy map, positioning, perception, intelligent decision and control. The Baidu map helps cars, which use cutting-edge technologies to make intelligent decisions, position precisely.

    The vehicle completed its first autonomous driving test run under complicated traffic conditions between urban roads, ring roads and highways in Beijing on Dec 10.

    Volvo cars with Sensus connectivity system

    Volvo Cars, a Swedish carmaker, now owned by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, launched its Sensus connectivity system in China in 2014. It offers its customers access to the mobile Internet and related services while in the car.

    The Sensus has diverse functions including navigation, entertainment apps, voice control, remote control via smartphones and call center services.

    Nokia's virtual reality camera Ozo

    Finland's Nokia, once the world's largest phone maker, has unveiled a spherical camera designed for making 3D movies and games that can be watched and played with virtual reality headsets.

    The device takes video and audio in 360 degrees with eight sensors and microphones, and is the first from Nokia's digital media solutions business.

    5G network

    5G, or fifth-generation mobile communication technology, is expected to be first put into commercial use by 2020, according to a timetable mapped out by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

    The new generation of networks is expected to have peak data transfer speed of 20 gigabits per second, almost 100 times faster than the current 4G networks.

    Wifi services for Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games

    America Movil, leading wireless service provider in Latin America, will provide wireless services for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. The wifi services provided by America Movil will be on exhibition at the Fair.
