China to consolidate Venezuela friendship after election

China has vowed to consolidate its relationship with Venezuela after the Latin American country held a parliamentary election on Sunday.

With latest results showing the opposition coalition has won a majority, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a routine press briefing on Monday that China hopes to deepen bilateral cooperation in trade and other fields.
