Married couples who both have Beijing household registration will be able to apply for a birth permit for their first child online by the end of 2015, according to Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning. This amendment to the regulations was made to simplify the application process, the Beijing Daily reported.
Haidian district has already started this process, which also speeds up the waiting period for getting the permit to two days instead of the several weeks it took to run back and forth between different government departments.
