Jiaojiao, the first robot employed in China's banking service, was put on duty at a Bank of Communications in Dalian, Liaoning province on Monday, Dalian Evening News reported.
The square-faced smiling robot is able to offer services including ushering, guiding and querying, and interacts with clients by touching, speaking and through body language.
The robot is able to provide accurate service but also interact with clients. "Can we take a photo together?" one asked, "Come on, but make sure to use a PS please," Jiaojiao answered.
The robot has attracted large curious crowds on its first day at work.
