Police in an eastern Chinese city have detained seven preachers and followers of a Christian church for suspected crimes including embezzling believers' donations.
The public security bureau of Wucheng District of Jinhua City in Zhejiang Province said the seven include Bao Guohua and his wife Xing Wenxiang, who are both preachers of a Christian church.
Police said the seven are suspected of amassing large amounts of money from running the church, embezzling believers' donations and instigating others to disrupt the social order.
The case is still under investigation, police said.
