On July 19, the Palace Museum signed a contract with a handicraft company in Hebei Province in order to develop a new range of souvenirs for tourists based on beautiful wood-carving artworks from Chinese history.

The range will duplicate Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) exhibits from the royal art collection, the Beijing Daily reported earlier this week.

According to the report, the first wood-carving artwork to be duplicated will be Suichaotu, which recreates the scene of Emperor Qianlong's birthday celebration by his ministers.
