As the June 30 deadline for final deal on Iran's nuclear program is drawing near, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong said on Sunday that it's been "only steps away from the finish line of the marathon of Iran nuclear talks."
Negotiation teams from the E3 plus 3 countries (the United States, Britain, China, France, Russia and Germany) and Iran have been working very hard, he said, noting that much progress has been made, while "a number of very hard issues" should not be underestimated.
"We hope we can cut a deal on time and we are happy to see that all parties are committed to this negotiation," Li said after his arrival in Vienna.
He said, China tries to encourage all parties to demonstrate their political will, to maintain their political will and to show their flexibility.
"This comprehensive agreement is so important. It's in the fundamental interest of peace and stability, not only in the middle east, but also in the world," He said.
"We Chinese delegation is here with hope and determination, so we try to see progress and finally cut a deal on time," Li said, adding that China strives to reach a comprehensive agreement in early July with no more repeated delay.
