2015 Hulun Buir Nomadic Music Festival to begin on July 3

The 2015 Hulun Buir Nomadic Music Festival, China's first nomadic culture themed and the only outdoor music festival of Inner Mongolia, will have its grand opening in Hulun Buir Grassland—the fountainhead of Mongolia—on July 3. The festival will last for two days.

The nomadic music festival is designed to allow the music to retain its original simplicity, so that visitors can appreciate the authenticity and simplicity of music in the vast prairie. Based on this theme, a stage for traditional ethnic culture and a stage for modern culture will be built, to demonstrate the profound history and culture of China's Northern peoples and pop music of different styles from around the world. So the festival is also known as "the Nadam Fair of Music".

Many popular bands have been invited to the festival, including the Second Hand Rose, Mongolia, notable American singer Christine Welch, Marty Gang—a Taiwanese beat group, Marsh and M6, Nine Treasures, Ghost-Face Cat, Crack, Falcon, Steed, and Qasar. More than 10 bands and performing teams will debut each day. The distinctiveness of the 2015 Hulun Buir Nomadic Music Festival lies in not only the fantastic performances given by bands much welcomed both at home and abroad, but also in the intangible cultural heritage shows and folk songs and dances with a strong ethnic flavor of the minorities in Northern China. During the festival, many aspects of the Nadam Fair will also be performed so as to offer the visitors a visual feast.

The festival will also invite Daniel Ho, producer and winner of more than 10 Grammy Awards. Ho will organize on-site teams to interact with singers and bands, and might choose and train outstanding performers to become Grammy Award winners. During the festival, He Xiaofeng, the founder of Chinese Private Equity and doctoral adviser of Peking University, along with many famous musicians will host cultural forums to discuss the development trends of modern music and the issue of cultural capitalization.

Xu Qingzhi, founder of Taiwan campus ballads and general manager of former Beijing-based Rock Records, will have discussions with singers of the festival about the internalization of folk music. And Yang Jincong, president and founder of Wind Records, the largest independent record company in Taiwan, will also attend the symposium.

A Green Hulun Buir, A Memorable Music Festival.

The 2015 Hulun Buir Nomadic Music Festival will be China's first nomadic culture themed music festival.
