A total of 11 million trips are expected to be made by train on the final day of China's three-day public holiday, and the railway operator will add trains to handle the travel rush.
China Railway Corporation (CRC) said on Sunday that it will put in place 435 extra trains.
Friday and Saturday's trips stood at 11.9 million and 8.36 million respectively, according to the CRC.
Travel rush during holidays used to be a big test for the country's railway system, a preferred transport tool for most of the Chinese people. In recent years, high-speed trains have eased the pressure.
Tickets are available for trips between almost all major Chinese cities on Sunday, the CRC said.
