Beijing cuts temple fairs to improve safety

Beijing's temple fairs this year will be smaller and have pared down procedures and programs, while some will be canceled altogether due to safety concerns, according to the Beijing News.

Lianhuachi Park has canceled its 2015 temple fair, but no detailed information was given as to the reason.

Tiantan Park canceled its sacrificial ceremony, and Ditan and Longtan temple fairs canceled their opening ceremonies and will not allow more than 90,000 people on their grounds at any given time.
