The death toll from a coal mine flooding in east China's Anhui province has climbed to seven, with one more body retrieved by rescuers Saturday. The accident happened at the Zhuxianzhuang coal mine in Yongqiao District, Suzhou City, at 6:55 pm Friday when 34 miners were working underground. Twenty-seven miners managed to escape while seven others were trapped, according to the Huaibei Mining (Group) Co. Ltd., the owner of the coal mine. The last body was found in the shaft by rescuers around 11 a.m. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The Zhuxianzhuang coal mine is a key state-owned coal mine that started operation in the 1980s.
