China's disciplinary watchdog will launch a mobile application on Jan. 1, part of its efforts to reach to a broader audience amid China's anti-corruption campaign.

The new application will offer users breaking news related to major anti-corruption moves, such as inspection updates and construction of honest Party and government, the Communist Party of China's (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said in a statement.

It did not specify whether the app will run on Apple's iOS-based devices or Android phones.

The current website with more interactive features will also be updated on Jan. 1, said CCDI.

The CCDI website has become one of the most popular websites since its operation began last September. From time to time, it will publish news of corrupt "tigers" and "flies," meaning both high and low-level officials.

Many of China's Internet users say CCDI website is the most timely and authoritative source of corruption news in the ongoing campaign. A TV documentary produced by CCDI said graft busters deliberately choose a certain time to publish news of corrupt officials to expand its influence.
