CBA player Abbas suspended 5 games for elbow

Shanxi player Zaid Abbas was suspended for five games for an elbow hit at a rival player in Sunday's CBA game, the Chinese Basketball Association announced on Tuesday.

The Jordanian star knocked down Qingdao player Song Kangming with an elbow hit to the back of his head.

The Shanxi club was also fined 100,000 yuan (16,165 US dollars).
