Shanghai reports human bird flu case

A case of human infection of the H7N9 strain of bird flu is reported in East China's Shanghai on Saturday.

The patient, surnamed Sheng, is a 38-year-old local resident, the Shanghai health and family planning commission said in a statement.

He is under active treatment, the commission said.
