Chinese court reviews motion filed online

The court of south China's Guangzhou city said on Wednesday it has started to review motions filed online.

The whole process could take as little as 20 minutes, the Intermediate People's Court in Guangzhou Municipality said. Only civil cases can bring motions online.

The arrangement will improve judicial efficiency and save petitioners troubles.

An applicant can file a motion at any time and place, and make enquiries regarding the motion to a duty judge through an online platform. The judge can give instructions through the platform or phone.

The online platform also provides the public with litigation and proof requirements.
