Liang Bin, a senior official from north China's Hebei Province, has been placed under investigation for "serious discipline and law violations," said the discipline inspection agency here Thursday.

Liang is head of the Organization Department of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, said a statement from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
