Chinese woman arrested for decade-old murder

A woman who suspectedly killed her boyfriend 13 years ago has been arrested in east China's Shandong Province, police said on Sunday.

The suspect, surnamed Cheng, was accused of poisoning her boyfriend to death in 2001 in Linyi County of Shanxi Province, according to local police.

Cheng, who fled after the murder, has been married in another province under a new identity, the police said.

Cheng has confessed to the murder, according to the police.

The police said Cheng killed her boyfriend because she suspected her boyfriend made her daughter pregnant.

Cheng has been detained for criminal prosecution. The police is investigating more evidence.
