China and Bolivia signed three aid agreements Thursday, under which China will provide the South American nation with vehicles and machinery and help it fight climate change.

Under the agreements, China will donate 74 million yuan (1.2 million U.S. dollars) for the purchase of 150 dump trucks and 50 other type of trucks, the Bolivian News Agency reported.

China will also supply goods to help Bolivia fight climate change and offer another million-dollar donation to cover the costs of vehicles purchased by Bolivia for the G77+China Summit earlier this year.

Juan Ramon Quintana, Bolivia's minister of the presidency, thanked the Chinese government for the machinery, saying the donation "is earmarked to improve living conditions in mostly rural towns."

Li Dong, China's ambassador to Bolivia, underscored the political trust the government of Bolivian President Evo Morales has placed in China.

That trust "has translated into important progress in economic and trade cooperation," he said.
