SW China furnace explosion kills 2

Two people were killed and another 11 were injured in a smelting furnace explosion at a factory in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Monday night.

The accident happened at about 7:40 p.m. in Dingsheng Metallurgical Co. Ltd in Lushui County when a smelting furnace exploded, according to the county government.

One person died at the scene and another died in hospital. The 11 injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
