Venus Williams advances at China Open

Sixteenth seed Venus Williams eased past British Heather Watson in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 to reach the second round in China Open on Sunday.

Williams just spent 65 minutes in dispatching the rising British talent. She reeled off six consecutive games to take the first set after falling behind 0-3.

In the second set, the fired-up Williams ran off 5 straight games to take control. Waston drew within 5-1 only to see Williams claimed the set 6-1.

"I just try to play well. This is the last big tournament of the year for me. Just try to keep my momentum going and play well." Williams said.

Williams will play the winner of the match between Zhang Shuai and Caroline Garcia.
