Intel on Friday said it has agreed to invest 9 billion yuan (1.5 billion US dollars) for a 20 percent stake in a new holding company under Tsinghua Unigroup which owns leading mobile chipmakers Spreadtrum Communications and RDA Microelectronics.
The deal is still subject to regulatory approvals.
