Chinese vice premier to attend meetings in Russia, France

Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong will attend cultural meetings in Russia and France from Sept. 13 to 19, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said Thursday.

Liu will chair the 15th session of the China-Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation in Russia at the invitation of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, who is also the Russian chairperson of the committee, spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a daily press briefing.

The vice premier will also attend a launch ceremony and the first meeting of the China-France High-level Mechanism of Dialogue on People-to-people Exchanges in France at the invitation of French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, Hua said.
